   Jun 29,  · The foreword always goes at the very front of the book (with one exception, which I’ll get into below), and it’s rarely more than a couple of pages long. You may see a foreword with either lowercase Roman numerals or typical Arabic numerals, or without any page numbering whatsoever.

   Normally a foreword is the start of a book, for example. This very well could be the start of something special for Disperse. Not only that but the album could have been called “Forward” because that is clearly the direction that Disperse are pushing their sound.

   But done well, it can create an otherworldly experience. And this is an ability DISPERSE have in spades, creating music that, as the cover of their new album Foreword reflects perfectly, feels like being bathed in golden light. Which makes it unfortunate when elements of their sound begin to get away from them as the album progresses.

   Disperse - Foreword album review The clues were all there on Disperse’s album Living Mirrors. Here was a young Polish band that, ostensibly, fit neatly into the burgeoning tech metal/djent movement while hinting at a more distinct and diverting identity. That album’s finest moments certainly suggested that Disperse, and insanely.
